Oceanic+ is a dedicated app for scuba divers on the Apple Watch Ultra developed by Apple in collaboration with Oceanic, an American scuba gear manufacturing company. The Oceanic+ Dive Computer app, like most Apple Watch apps, has an easy-to-use interface and a plethora of features on Apple’s first dive computer.
The Oceanic+ is suitable for both novice and experienced divers and snorkelers. If you have an Apple Watch Ultra, here’s how to download and install the Oceanic+ Dive Computer app on it.
How to Download the Oceanic+ Dive Computer app on Apple Watch Ultra?
Make sure you have the latest watchOS 9.1 updates installed on your Watch Ultra before downloading the Oceanic+. Similarly, an iPhone running iOS 16.1 or later is required to support the Oceanic+ Dive Computer app.
Search for Oceanic+ in the App Store and make sure you’re downloading an app from Huish Outdoors, LLC. While it is free to download, there is a subscription fee to access all of the Oceanic+ app’s features. Similarly, there is a family sharing plan that allows up to five family members access. Finally, there is a one-day subscription option.
The app will be available on the Apple Watch Ultra once you download it on your smartphone. Once you’ve downloaded it and entered your name, emergency contact information, dive experience (student, open water, advanced, dive master, instructor), and sensor authorization (to access live GPS location and other details)and then press the Activate Oceanic+ button on your watch.
If you pair an Apple Watch Ultra with your iPhone, all of these details will sync it. Even with a free account (limited to snorkeling), Oceanic+ provides features such as a depth gauge, maximum depth, time, compass, logbook, lifetime dive time, longest time, social media sharing, and pictures.
The Oceanic+ offers all of the features available in the free version with a paid subscription. Users will also have access to additional features such as tissue loading, community dive condition, 3-day weather forecasts, 3-day tide prediction, UV index, and more.
While the Oceanic+ app is compatible with any iPhone newer than the iPhone SE Gen 2 or the iPhone 8. It does require an Apple Watch Ultra and is not compatible with any other Apple Watch, including the latest Apple Watch SE.
