The concept of a Tesla phone, rumored to be called the Model Pi/P, has gone viral on the internet. But how likely is the release of a smartphone? No credible sources have confirmed its existence, but it got us thinking: what would the world’s most valuable automaker’s smartphone look like?
Elon Musk teases a smartphone challenge to Apple and Google
Elon Musk regularly launches rockets into space, but can he deliver something as simple as a smartphone?
The world’s wealthiest person, and the new owner of Twitter, has hinted that he may venture into the phone industry, amid fears that Apple and Google may ban the social media platform from their app stores due to content moderation concerns.
Tesla, the electric vehicle manufacturer, has reportedly been working on a futuristic smartphone for some time, but its CEO, Elon Musk, has remained tight-lipped about the project.
However, he has recently suggested that a phone may be in the works.
The topic was brought up on Twitter by American political commentator Liz Wheeler, who stated that “half the country” would gladly abandon Apple’s iPhone and Android devices in favor of a phone designed by Mr. Musk.
Mr. Musk responded that he hopes Twitter is not banned by Apple and Google, but that “if there is no other option, I will make an alternative phone.”
He has been eager to restore previously banned accounts such as that of former US President Donald Trump to Twitter.
Since his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, the billionaire’s tenure as CEO has been fraught with controversy.
In addition to widespread job cuts, the company has lost at least half of its major advertisers in the weeks following Mr. Musk’s appointment — a loss of nearly $750 million, according to a report.
Tesla Phone Specs
One can only go on assumptions with this phone. There are no reliable sources to rely on, it’s unclear what this phone might look like on the inside. It would have all of the standard components, such as 512 GB to 1-2 TB of storage, 8-16 GB of RAM, an AMOLED display, and a 6.5-inch screen.
The Tesla Pi Phone’s specifications will be quite advanced, easily outperforming all flagship smartphones on the market. The specifications make the Pi Phone a fantastic device on its own. And the software will undoubtedly make it the best smartphone on the planet.
Tesla Phone Features:
- Satellite internet
- Solar charging
- Vehicle control
- Astrophotography
- Crypto mining
- Neuralink support
Tesla will introduce a slew of novel features and hardware to the smartphone. However, without an official announcement, it’s difficult to predict what the exact specifications will be. That being said, let’s take a look at the Tesla Pi Phone’s potential specifications.
Model | Pi |
Operating System | Android 12 |
CPU | Tesla’s own CPU |
Ram | 12 GB |
Storage | 256GB/512 GB/1TB |

The Tesla Pi Phone has the potential to have the greatest technological impact on the world in the last decade. Hopefully, it will be released soon, and people will appreciate all of the hard work and brainpower that went into developing such a technology.
Pre-Order of Tesla Phone
We anticipate an announcement many months before the official release, with pre-orders possibly beginning soon after. However, without a release date to refer to, we have no idea when or if pre-orders for the Tesla Pi 5G will begin, if at all.
If we come across reliable information about a release, we’ll post any relevant links about pre-ordering here.
Price of Tesla Phone
Assuming the phone is real (again, we doubt it) and starts out relatively simple with only a few of the rumored features, it’ll likely cost between $800 and $1,200.
Techspecsnepal’s Release Date Estimate
If (and this is a big if) this phone is truly being developed in secret and every rumor is true, we won’t see it until around 2030.
