The 10 Best Wireless Headphones for Everyone

Best Wireless Headphones

These Techspecsnepal-tested picks sound like a million bucks, whether you need workout earbuds or gaming over-ears. Let’s talk about the top 10 Best Wireless Headphones.

Whether you’re listening to the latest Gadget Lab podcast or hiking with Taylor Swift’s album on repeat, the right pair of wireless headphones can make or break your day. The only issue is that there are so many options. The Techspecsnepal team is always testing new models, and these are the best we’ve found.

1. Sony WH-1000XM5 – Best Overall Headphones

Sony WH-1000XM5

Sony’s flagship noise-canceling headphones are now in their fifth generation, which means a new, more elegant design as well as improved sound and noise cancellation. Thanks to Sony’s clever processing and drivers, the WH-1000XM5 (9/10, Techspecsnepal Recommends) has 30 hours of battery life and some of the best sound quality you’ll find. They cancel out the world better than almost all competitors, and they even detect when you’re talking and pause your music automatically—you’ll rarely reach for the pause button. Smaller 30-mm drivers produce a punchy, convincing soundstage that can distract you from whatever you’re listening to. It falls at the top of the list of Best Wireless Headphones.

2. Beats Fit Pro – Best Earbuds

The Beats Fit Pro are also one of our favorite wireless earbuds right now, thanks to their excellent iOS and Android integration, comfortable fit, and great sound. These Apple-made buds use the company’s proprietary H1 headphone chip, so they work like AirPods with an iPhone, but they also work great on Android, with an app that lets you customize the controls and perform a fit test to ensure proper bass. They also have active noise cancellation and good microphones—and, most importantly, they come in colors other than Cupertino white.

3. 1 More ColorBuds – Runner-Up Earbuds

1 More ColorBuds

The 1More ColorBuds are among the most comfortable headphones available. They stay secure thanks to three sizes of silicone ear tips and small ear fins, and a slightly slimmed-down design from the previous 1More Stylish ($60) model allows them to fit well even in smaller ears. The ColorBuds are IPX5 water-resistant and have great sound. They’re aptX-enabled for higher-quality Bluetooth audio (when paired with an aptX device) and have punchy bass that’s impressive for a pair of headphones this size, but they never get too boomy. Such comfort, sound quality, and AirPods-beating six-hour battery life at a much lower price place them among the best wire-free earbuds available.

4. Jabra Elite 7 Active – Best for Workouts

Jabra Elite 7 Active

These Jabra buds have a comfortable silicone coating and are small in size. We’ve recommended several pairs of Jabra’s workout buds in the past, but these are the most recent, with an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance and eight hours of battery life between charging trips. The sound quality is excellent, and if you have specific tuning needs, you can customize the EQ in Jabra’s Sound+ app.

5. Apple AirPods Max – Best Sound Quality

Although they are among the most expensive wireless headphones on the market, Apple’s AirPods Max provides the best sound. They have deep bass, a large soundstage, and good noise cancellation. What’s my favorite part? The large Apple Watch-style knob on the top of the right ear cup allows you to easily adjust the volume. Apple customers will appreciate how well they integrate with iOS devices, particularly how well they handle video. Certain apps (HBO Max, for example) can track your head to simulate full object-based surround sound when you watch through them.

6. Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) – Best for iPhones

I wasn’t a big fan of Apple’s first-generation AirPods Pro, which had a meager battery life despite their excellent noise cancellation and sound quality, but that problem has been resolved for the second generation. Along with six hours of battery life and a new case with a speaker to aid in the use of Apple’s “Find My” feature, the new model has improved touch controls for quick volume adjustments, as well as improved noise reduction and sound. If you have an iPhone and enjoy listening to music at home or on the go, these are an excellent choice.

7. Google Pixel Buds Pro – Best for Android

If you’re an Android fan like me, the Pixel Buds Pro is a great alternative to the AirPods Pro. The adorable multicolored earbuds have excellent noise cancellation, a super comfortable fit, and an hour more playtime (seven) than Apple’s equivalents. I also like how quickly they switch between multiple paired devices, which is convenient for those of us who use headphones for both work and exercise. The only disadvantage is that they do not work well with iPhones. That’s too bad. So sad.

8. Bose Noise Canceling 700 – Best for Phone Calls

Inside these Bose headphones, special digital signal processing (DSP) and an advanced microphone array allow them to reduce background noise and focus solely on your voice, making them excellent for call quality. Furthermore, the special microphones and DSP work in tandem with Bose’s incredibly effective noise-canceling technology in order to provide incredible peace and quiet whether you’re at home or on the go. It also has great comfort, long battery life, and excellent sound quality making the Bose 700 an excellent choice if you make a lot of phone calls and Zoom meetings.

9. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro – Best for Samsung Phones

For those who aren’t sold on the Pixel Buds Pro, the Buds2 Pro is a solid Android alternative. They’re extremely comfortable, and the dual-driver array provides better sound than the Pixel Buds, albeit without multi-device connectivity. However, you get better microphones than with the Google option, making these better for those who work and play in the same earbuds.

10. Audio-Technica ATH-M20xBT – Best Cheap Headphones

Audio-Technica has been a DJ and content creator favorite for decades due to their durable build quality and great sound, and that’s exactly what I discovered when I tested these great $79 over-ears earlier this year. They have excellent sound quality for the price and an incredible 60 hours of playback time between charges. It’s also nice that they come with a cable for wired listening in case your power goes out for… an entire workweek.
